About ViaPlot

We wanted a better way to share our adventures.

So we built one.

The idea for ViaPlot started on a road trip. We'd just spent three weeks driving through the Balkans — 12 countries, hundreds of photos, dozens of recommendations scribbled in a notes app. When friends asked "where should we go?", the best we could do was drop a Google Maps pin and paste a wall of text into a chat.

We looked for something better. Something that could hold photos and videos alongside each pin. Something that told the story of each place, not just its coordinates. Something we could publish and share with a single link, or embed on a blog.

It didn't exist — at least not without paying for enterprise GIS software or accepting the limitations of a clunky travel blog plugin. So we built ViaPlot.

We're a small, independent team. We have no investors to please and no growth-at-all-costs mandate. We build ViaPlot the way we want to use it: fast, private, opinionated about simplicity, and serious about quality.

What we stand for

Made for storytellers, not cartographers

ViaPlot is designed for people who care about the story behind the place — not just the coordinates. You shouldn't need a GIS degree to make a beautiful, shareable map.

Privacy-first, EU-hosted

Every byte of your data lives on European servers. We don't sell your data, track you across the web, or hand anything to third parties. Your maps, your data.

Open to the world

We believe interesting stories deserve a global audience. That's why every piece of content in ViaPlot supports full multi-language localisation — so your map can speak to everyone.

Get in touch

We read every email and genuinely enjoy hearing from people who are making things with ViaPlot — or who have ideas for how to make it better.
